A journey by boat I made
Bangladesh is a land of rivers. In this fast modern age, a journey by boat offers a different taste in our communication system. It brings us closer to the beauty of nature. A journey by boat is also interesting and pleasant.

A few days ago I got an opportunity to make a journey by boat from Sadarghat, Dhaka to Fotulla, Narayangonj on a pleasure trip. Two of my friends were with me. We hired a big boat. There were two boatmen. We took our clothes and a camera with us.

We started our journey at 8 a.m. The boatman and the oarsman were very nice people. The sky was clear and the weather was fine. The river was calm. The boatman hoisted the sail. The boat began to move smoothly.

There were small waves on the river. We enjoyed the beautiful scenes on both sides of the river. There were green fields of rice, jute and other crops, rows of trees. We saw many people bathing and swimming in the river. Fishermen were catching fish. Women were fetching water in the pitchers. Many boats and launches were plying on the river.

We reached a market at Fotulla, Narayangonj at 12 o’clock. We took our lunch in a hotel there. After lunch, we started our return journey at 3 o’clock. We enjoyed the sun set on the boat. It was overwhelming. We reached our destination at 6 o’clock.


The journey in my heart I bore. It gave us much pleasure. It was one of the most memorable journeys in my life.
